My name is Andrew (AJ) Marx.
I'm currently a sophmore at Shippenburg University, majoring in computer science.
I know several programming and markup languages fairly well. Including, but not
limited to, (in order of fluency) Java, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, C, TI BASIC,
True BASIC, Visual Basic, and probably one or two more that i'm forgetting.
Eventually I wanted to make a message board (like the one I use today), so that visitors and friends could just say hello or whatever. In order to accomplish this, I needed to learn PHP (PHP Hypertext Preprocesser (a recursive acronym)). So, using some online tuturials, I managed to learn the basics and have a message board.
In the fall of 2005, I took an AP Java class in highschool. I added a java section to my site so that I could store my code online. The section was removed sometime in the summer/fall of 2006.
Sometime in the spring of 2006, I could no longer think of ways to improve the site, and so the update notes that I posted on the main page would end. I didn't want the main page of my site to be inert, so it slowly morphed into a "blog".
On January 1st, 2007, the site had a major overhaul. The new site featured not only a new look, but it made use of MySQL databases, AJAX, and other modern web features.
