Reminder: turn your clocks 1 hour ahead tonight. I was thinking about daylight savings time... Why are you supposed to change your clocks at like 2 in the morning? If you're working the night shift or something like that, do you get paid for x hours, or x-1 hours? And in what locations of the world do people use daylight savings time? Here in PA, being some 41°N from the equator, our amount of sunlight changes because of the earth's position relative to the sun. And because the earth's axis is tilted 23.5°, we spend more time on the dark side of the earth during winter. I don't think the same could be said for places on the equator. I imagine everyday there would have 12hrs of sun, and 12 hours of night. So somewhere between here an there, there is a place where the difference of sunlight in winter/summer is not significant enough to require daylight savings time. but where exactly is that. I'm too lazy/tired to look it up right now, but maybe tomorrow. And today is April fools day. Unfornately, i didn't have the opportunity to play any major pranks/fools on anybody. maybe next year. I'm going to change my clocks, then sleepy-do time. |

Hey Hey! FrameCreator Version 0.95 is here. ;) New features include:
Outside of java, i was taking photos for photo II class all weekend long. Due to my lack of motorized transportation, i had to walk everywhere. I must've walked like 20 miles. Well, maybe it was more like 15, or somewhere around there. But when i finally got home, my legs fell off. But some super glue and duct tape fixed that right up. It was really sunny out this weekend. I got some sunburn while i was on my adventure. You know those cartoons where there's a storm cloud that follows a character wherever they go? Well, that's me, execpt instead of a rain cloud, it's a big hole in the ozone layer that follow me around. |

A friend of mine gave me a link to this game. It's called Prime Shooter. The object of the game is to reduce the falling numbers by shooting them with thier prime factors, 2 through 19. Then the number will change into the quotient of the two numbers. You want to do this until the quotient equals 1. If a falling number is already prime, press the P button on your keyboard and it will be eliminated. Say for example, there was a 35 falling. You could either shoot it with either a 5 or a 7 (they're both prime factors of 35) by pressing 5 or 7 on your keyboard. Let's just say you shoot it with a 5. Then the falling number will turn into a 7 (35/5 = 7). Then you can either press 7, or P and the number will be eliminated. It's kind of hard to explain with words. The game requires some quick recognition of prime numbers to be relatively successful. My high score at the moment is 145. That's pretty good i imagine. and i've been working on my Pi a little bit. Didn't learn too many more decimal places, but have been working on memorizing 100% the ones i know. 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288... that's 35 if i counted correctly. after 32 or so, it's a little fuzzy. I don't know how much pi i should learn. I think maybe i'll stop at 50 decimal places. |

LOL is WAY too overused. Some people are now speaking L O L outloud. I can undestand using it occaisionally, when you actually do laugh out loud. But I almost never laugh out loud while on the computer. Not even a chuckle. This is why i propose a new, more realistic acronym: GFA. Grinning From Amusement. And while i'm at it, how 'bout another one? PTA. Pretending To be Amused. This is for use when some one tells you a joke that is not funny, or something like that. Instead of an awkward silence without lol, you can use PTA to let them know that it wasn't funny while while not hurting their feelings by blatantly telling them that it wasn't funny. |

I just about finished up my new method for adding updates. I'm like 80% done, i should have it done tomorrow. If all goes well, people who visit the site will be able to add a comment to each individual update. I also have them organized better in directories. All of this took some programming with php. I had to search for and learn some new functions, but other than that, it went pretty smooth. The rest that i have to complete should be a piece of cake. |

I've been sick the last few days. I'm starting to feel a little better but not too great. X-( |

I'm feeling much better than last week. Last week, i was sick. I had a fever of 102.6°F. It all started last sunday. I woke up not feeling well. But after i had something to eat and woke up, i felt fine. Monday and Tuesday i went to school. It wasn't too bad then. On wednesday, i stayed home because i felt pretty bad. My throat hurt bad, and i was coughing a lot. I sometimes had the slight urge to blow chunks. I would go through periods where i would sweat really bad, and then 1/2 hour later be freezing cold; sometimes a combination of the two. And i didn't have much of an appetite either. Thursday, i didn't have school because of easter vacation, and i went to the doctor then. The doctor's office was awfully crowded. I must've waited in the waiting room for atleast a half hour. I actually waited outside the doctors office because of the crowdedness. That and because you couldn't take drinks in. I had a coke with me to help settle my stomach some. After that initial wait, i got called back to one of the back rooms. Once i got there, i had another 30 minute wait for the doctor to come in. Eventually, he gave me a prescription. The medicine didn't seem to have any effect on Thursday. But i didn't get some lozenges at the drug store. They would numb my throat, which felt fantastic. On Friday when i woke up, i felt a noticable difference in the throat pains. I felt better and better as the day went on. On Saturday when i woke up, i felt completely healed. Well, now i'm better. I finally got around to changing the site a little bit. You can now leave me a comment that pertains to one of my update things. Just click the little 'link/comments' link at the bottom right-hand corner of this little box. There you can see comments by other people, and leave one of your own. I don't really expect anyone to leave comments though. I originally planned to keep track of how many comments an update gets, and have it in the link at the bottom right, it would look something like 'link/comments(5)' if i were to have 5 comments. But i forgot about that feature, and i'm not exactly sure how i'd go about it anyways. |

Here is a link to info about a programming competition that my school will be going to next Tuesday. I plan on kicking some butt. I've also been working on my pi. I believe i'm up to forty decimal places.
yup, that's 40. I double checked them all to make sure i got them all right so that i wouldn't look like a fool if i got one wrong. My goal is to get to 50 decimal places. Only 10 more to go! |

greetings are an odd thing sometimes. When i meet some that i know, and they greet me by saying "How's it goin'", or "What's up", or some variation of such a phrase. How should i respond to that? Are they actually inquiring about my day? or are they just using the phrase as an alternative way of saying hello/hi. It bothers me, because i don't know if should answer their question, or just say hi in return. If i had the authority to do so, i would ban such greetings. Once i take over the world, i'll be sure to put that on my checklist. And i am bored right now. Before i started typing this, i was bouncing a superball off of the wall and catching it for 15 minutes. Some time's i won't catch it. Then i must search through the stacks of junk in this room to find it. Then sometimes it'll go out the door and down the stairs. I tried banking it into and out of the corner, but it doesn't bouce like i originally thought it would, so it's not easily catchable. I sometimes try seeing how fast i can throw it and still catch it. Though that usually ends up in a search for the ball. Why am i typing all this nonsense about a superball? because i'm bored, that why. :-/ |

i wonder how effective internet advertisement are now a days. I know that whenever i get a pop-up, 99.83% of the time it's an advertisement. So i usually close it before the page has the opportunity to fully load. And banner ads... Most of the ones that i see are flash animations saying something to the extent of "Shoot the bad guy, and get a new cell phone!". I think most people today are internet savvy enough to know that they won't be getting a new phone because they can click a silly little flash animation. Therefore, they have no reason to click the ad. Some banner ads are all flashy and flamboyant they're impossible to ignore. The obnoxious-ness of these ads would make me want to have nothing to do with whatever the ad is for. Either way, if ads can allow me to have a site such as this for free, i don't really mind them. |

i had a programming competition to go to today. i had to wake up around 5:30 this morning so i could get to school before 6:30. I figure it took about 45 minutes on the bus ride there. Buses ride a lot bumpier than i remember them being in elementary school. Well once we got there, we set up the computers, then had some breakfast. I already ate, so i only had some orange and apple juice. Then it was competition time. My team and i got through the first 4 programs relatively quickly. The 5th took us a while. We didn't get any done and working after that. I had one nearly finished until we realized that i was making a program to do the wrong thing. I didn't do as well as i had hoped. But my team did better than any other team from my school. The programs that we had to do were pretty tough. I figure i could've done better if i had time to think about it for a while. I would normally take some time to figure out what i the program must do, and find the most efficient (i think i spelled that wrong, but i'm to lazy to look it up right now) way. But in a timed situation, that's not the greatest way to do it. And I would consider myself more of an object oriented program type of person. And the programs didn't require any objects, they were basically general programming stuff. If the were OOP, i would've dominated, maybe. I don't really know how well my school did relative to other schools right now. I figure were somewhere int he middle. Some schools got up to 11 programs done, while others had only 2 or 3 done. The results might be posted on the comp. website soon, so if they are, i'll make it noted here. Atleast i got a free t-shirt out of it... and i had a fun time... and a free meal... and a day off from school. :) |

This next week is going to be rough. On Tuesday i have my Advanced Placement Computer Science test to take. To prepare for that, i have to finish up a sample AP test. I also have to look over the case study that the short answer questions are on. That case study is a program that takes up like 30 pages when printed. And i have another packet that sort of explains it. That packet is about 80 pages (front & back), not including the appendixes (or would it be appendices?). That's like the entire rain forest, and then some. I'd like to see how they staple those 80+ pages together. The AP test costs about $80 to take. And all students at my school are REQUIRED to take a test for every AP class they have. If some kid would have like 3 AP classes. That's like $240 right there. That is absurd. I only have to take one test, so it's not that bad. Next Wednesday i have a report for Photo II class that's due. I haven't started working on it yet. I seem to always forget about it whenever i have free time to do it. I'll have to get that done. And I'll have to shoot a roll of film soon also. That'll probably take up an entire day. :-/ |
