Big News!!!
Click The Color Version 1.50 has just been released!!!
"Two seperate versions, released on the same day?" you say.
"Yup." i say.
"Okay." you say.
Then i say, "Well, actually V1.30 was finished yesterday, i just didn't have the time to make an update thing here then. So i made it earlier today. Then later i worked on it some more. And now it's V1.50."
New Features include:
- I re-did almost all the code. In earlier versions, it was pretty sloppy and hard to follow. Now i separated the major classes and it's better now.
- The restart button bug in V1.30 has been fixed.
- New difficulty system. As you gain more points, the time left will increase by smaller and smaller amounts. For example, if you have 10 points then click on the correct button, your time will increase by 0.95 seconds. But if you had 100 points, your time will increase by only 0.5 seconds.
Here's the formula i used: timeToAdd = ((100 - (currentScore / 2)) * 10)
where timeToAdd is milliseconds.

Click The Color Version 1.30 has just been released.
New features include:
- A start and restart button. Once you click the wrong color, a restart button will appear. Click it to restart. This way you won't have to close the window the open it back up again.
- A new scoring system. Your final score will be the number of correct colors you've clicked plus the time left over.
- A better looking GUI. The time left displays the time down to milliseconds. And the buttons are gray with a black background.
- There is one bug that i know of. When you run out of time and the clock reaches zero, it'll display a restart button. And the restart button doesn't work.

Here is the brand new java version of Click the Color (and not the word). Version 1.00. There are some other features i'd like to add as well and make it look a little better. Those will come in later versions. But this is the first complete version that works fine and could be considered done.
It's in the form of a .JAR file for download. Have fun! :-)

I started working on that java version of 'Click The Color' that i spoke of earlier.
I built the GUI for it today. My first java GUI ever!!! And i learned it all on my own with the assistance of only a textbook. No schooling involved. :-)
I also wrote just about all of the code concerning the random word displayed and the random color of the word. I just have to make the timer stuff. I hope to have it done by tomorrow. Though i don't know if that'll happen. I have some plans tomorrow and it'll depend on my mood. Almost guaranteed done by the weekend unless i come across some big bug or something.
I also recently discovered how to create JAR's with my IDE, so i should have it available for download as a .JAR file. You'll need the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) installed on you're computer to run it though. I've been wondering about applets lately. I'll try to see if i can make it an applet that can be run in the browser, though if i were you i wouldn't expect (like anyone is expecting anyway) it soon. I don't know very much at all about applets.

BRRRRR... It's cold! About 15° Fahrenheit today. That's about -9° Celcius which sounds much colder. That's about 264° Kelvin. ;-) Pretty strange weather lately. Less than a week ago the temperature was nearly 60° F. Weird.
UPDATE!!!
Two updates in one day?!?! I've got to be kidding, right?... Wrong.
Anyway, the java programs for chapter 11 just got demolished. :-) Now it's time to tear apart that take-home java test. :-P
Speaking of chapter 11, the UML Diagram for all them classes closely resembles a spider web. Here's a screenshot. Ok, well maybe it's not that crazy, but it is certainly 8 and a half times worse than any chapter before this. I sure am glad BlueJ is doing all them arrows and not me. BTW: Use ImageShack for all your image hosting needs. :)
Doesn't it feel great once you figure out that algorithm that works, after many attempts with code that you thought would work, but didn't. Or when you find some kind of shortcut that would save your self a lot of work/typing. Or something clever like that. I had one of those epiphanies of the latter type today. :-) Feels good. :-)

A milestone today for chickenmeister's virtual world. The 300th visit today. It took about four months to get the first 200 hits. And now, in less than one month i've gotten 100+ visits. :-)

2-14-06:
Here a game i made last year in Visual Basic class. I pretty much based it off this game that i played a while ago. But be warned, if you play that game that i based it off of, the music will rot your mind for days. It is a catchy tune though.
My version of the game is a bit buggy. If you click on the wrong color, you'll get a message that says you've clicked the wrong color. Then you'll get another dialog box that say's you've run out of time. Then you'll get that one more time after the game closes. So a total of 3 messages that say you lose. Other than that i think it's runs well. If had some more time, i would've worked all the kinks out, but i only made the game in my spare time in VB class. I'll see if i can make a java version of the game.
It's an executable file (.exe), so it should be able to run on nearly all computers. But if it somehow destroys your computer, don't complain to me, download at your own risk. Though i'd be willing to bet that it won't harm your computer.

Today i counted and wrapped my spare change, mostly leftover lunch money. $0.60 cents a day. 2 quarters, 1 dime. Here's what it amounts to...
243 quarters -> $60.75
129 dimes - - > $11.90
30 nickels - - > $1.50
40 pennies --> $0.40
GRAND TOTAL --> $74.55
Seventy dollars worth of coins wrapped. The rest of my coins were not enough to be wrapped. I also found a quarter from the Cayman Islands from 1990. And i found a U.S. nickel from 1956. I know some of the metals that coins were made of changed in 1964, but i don't know if that affected nickels or not. I'll keep it aside, just incase; I doubt it'll be of much or any value greater than 5 cents.
I have a large collection of more spare change hidden in my room that weighs like 80 pounds. I'll have to cash that in someday. But maybe the weight of the coins is a crime deterrent. It's be pretty tough to make a getaway carrying around all that weight. I don't know.
And just so you know i didn't count out how many individual coins i have (ex. 243 quarters). I took the value of the coins wrapped (ex. $60 quarters) and divided by the value of the coin ( $0.25 ) then added on how many leftover coins i had (3)

2-11-06:
I cooked some Perdue chicken strips today. And these pieces of chicken were frozen. Now i've had this same kind of chicken strips several times before. Everytime they were refrigerated, not frozen. And the chicken today was not as good as it usually was. I would assume it was because it was frozen. I can't quite explain why they weren't as good, they just weren't; there was something about 'em. Those Perdue Breaded Chicken Breast Strips are the best though, especially when they're not frozen.
Speaking of frozen foods, know what else i find amazing? TV dinners. You can have a perfectly cooked meal including (but not limited to;-) ) chicken, corn, french fries/mashed potatos, and a brownie, all in under 10 minutes. That's really amazing if you ask me. Hungry-Man TV dinners are my favorite btw.
And today I came across the 1337 version of 600613 (elite version of google). Pretty awsome, eh? Just imagine what the world [wide web ;-) ] would be like if search engines didn't exist. Not knowing if some company has a website. Not knowing what a sites address may be. Having to guess a site's address; and if you're wrong, you might be off by the CaSe of one letter or something and never even find the site you're looking for. Imaging trying to gather infomation on a specific subject. Unless you find a site devoted to that subject, it'd be near impossible. Life without search engines would be terrible.

2-09-06: I added a skin/color scheme thing. It's called 'chickenmeisterific'. I based it off those new comcastic commercials. I must admit that it doesn't look as good as I had originally hoped, but it's still not bad. I'm using it now. :)

2-08-06: I sorted all these updates by month. The front page will now only show updates from the last three months to minimize load times. Not that it matters too much with text only, but every millisecond counts. I think i read somewhere that when people visit a website, that they base like 90% of their opinion on what they see in like the first ten seconds, or something to that extent. So i try to keep it neat looking.
Anyway, there's no need to fear, you can view the older updates by just scrolling down to the bottom of the updates, and you'll see a table with all the months. Just click on a month to view that month's updates. PHP is great btw.

2-07-06: I just got my ears lowered today. For those that don't know, no, i didn't get some kind of surgery to physically lower the location of my ears. It means that i got my hair cut. The only problem now is that my head and neck are rather itchy, as i didn't wash my hair yet.
But it feels good to have less hair now. Here's some reason's why:
- Less drag. I can now cut through the air like a hot knife through butter thanks to the lack of wind resistance.
- Improved vision. My hair used to get in my eyes all the time; now it can't.
- Improved agility. Now that the mass of hair atop my head is gone, i weigh less, which improve my power:weight ratio, which leads to improved acceleration, deceleration, handling and other stuff like that. And now that the hair is gone, i am no longer top-heavy. My center of gravity has been dramatically lowered, furthing improving agility.
- Improved cooling. Now my head has nearly no insulation at all. And i will dissipate heat much faster.
- Improved java efficiency. Now that my hair is gone, my programming abilities will go through the roof. I don't know why, but they will. It is one of them natural phenomenons, a great mystery of life.

2-06-06: Well, my prediction was wrong. But I still think that Seattle is the better team.

2-04-06: The superbowl is tomorrow. Now, I no football expert or anything like that, but I am going to make a prediction on the outcome of the game. I'll say/hope Seattle wins. 24-17.

2-02-06: Today is February 2nd. That can mean only one thing... Groundhog Day! Punxsatawney Phil saw his shadow, which means 6 more weeks of winter. :-\
Here are some good java games. "What's so great about them?" you say. "They use less than 4,096 bytes! That's what!" I say. That's pretty amazing if you ask me.
