It is now official,

I am the smartest man alive!!!

Well, maybe not really, but i did just solve a crazy java program that has been eating at my mind the past few days, and that's sure how i feel. Now my brain is like dead tired. I just want to go to sleep. But there are things to be done. Like more homework, and more programming. Like version 0.95 of FrameCreator, which i haven't started yet. And i also created a way to organize these update things better, but I have to do some php coding to finish it off; and i have all set up so that i can start it with the month of april. But i don't think i'll be in the mood to finish it tomorrow (there's 31 days in march right?). so maybe i'll get it done over the weekend. So much programming, so little time!

PS: recently i've been trying to memorize as much Pi as possible. Right now, i've got 30 decimal places memorized, after that i know like 3 more, but they're kinda fuzzy.

There you have it, 32 decimals of Pi. :-P

Here is a java program that i made. FrameCreator Version 0.85.

It's basically a window where you can draw lines, and then save it. To draw a line, click once, then you'll see a line from where you clicked to the current location of your pointer. Click again to draw the line. Once you've drawn a line, you can't get rid of it. Eventually i'll add in an Undo button. If you want to save your picture, click the button that says "Save" (duh!). Right now, you can only save it as a file named "SavedFrame". So basically, you can only have one drawing saved at a time. Later on, i'll make it so that you can name your drawing. To open a drawing that you've previously drawn, click the "Open" button (duh!). You can only open the file named "SavedFrame". Eventually i'll make it so that you can have multiple drawings saved and open-able, but this is only V0.85. So it's not quite done yet.

It's no photoshop or anything like that, but it's a start, eh?

And just so you know, it's not my fault if my programs cause your computer to blow up, or harm it in any way. Use it at your own risk. Though, i really don't think any harm will come from it. I'm just putting this out this little disclaimer just incase.
And you'll need the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) installed on your computer to run it. ;-)

Not too long ago, i created a "myspace" thing.
The person(s) that own Myspace must be making money hand over fist. Everybody(almost) has one.

One thing about myspace that rubs me the wrong way is the colors and backgrounds that people use. Those 'myspace editor' things where you can just choose which color you'd like the background, text, links, etc to be are a very good/useful thing, but some people use them the wrong way. I'm no style expert or anything, but the background/text color combos that some people use aren't very friendly to my eyes. They might have a complicated background picture with different textures and colors, which is not very good because it might be easy to read text in one spot, but in other places it is nearly impossible. Or they might have awful color choices that do not mix well. Like pink/blue, or red/yellow, or something to that extent.

Other people will have an absurd amount of pictures. Which only causes more scrolling for me while my computer is lagging because it's a turd2. I think it also makes it appear more complicated or something like that.

Some people choose to add music to their myspace. Which is alright i suppose. But what if i already have music playing? Then it's just a bunch of random noises. That's no way to interrupt JS Bach, now is it? I'd rather have no music, or have it so that it doesn't automatically play or something. It's also no good if you have a dial-up internet connection. Because then you can only listen to the music in like 3 second itervals.

Though some people myspaces look rather nice(to me anyway). But sometimes i wish that those myspace editor things never existed. Then it'd require some knowledge of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to make your own styles. Then only the people who have the mental capacity to learn such things could do it. And people with such minds should be able to know what looks good. It'd be even better if people would create their own website. Which would likely require them to learn HTML (HyperText Markup Language). Learning = good. Maybe i should just not think about the whole myspace thing. ;-/

Today is God of War's (the game(the first one)) birthday!!! it was released march 22nd of last year if my memory serves me correct. So happy birthday Kratos! :D

Also today, some big news about GOW2! :-)
It'll be released on the PS2 next year i think. I'm kinda sad that it'll be on the PS2 rather than the PS3. It could be a much better game graphic & technology-wise. Though i'm also glad that it'll be on the PS2 too. This way i won't have to spend a preposterous amount of cash to buy a PS3. I'd like to get a PS3 on launch day, but i don't know if that'll happen. It'll probably be too expensive for me, unless i get a job, which i probably will sometime in the relatively near future.

Who is the elite java master who also memorized the first 20-some decimals of Pi? Me, of course! **cough**3.1415926535897932384626..:P**cough**.
Π is awsome!!!

and it's spring!!! hooray!!! :D

The website is crawling with spiders!!!... googlebot. msnbot. Yahoo!.

Though i still see nothing from Mr.Jeeves. a.k.a Ask.com. I'd stay away from there if i were you. Atleast until the index my site. I couldn't find anyway to submit my site to them like i could with google and yahoo. And besides, they got rid of jeeves, that butler dude. I thought he was a pretty good logo thing. I guess they're trying to find way to stay in competition with the other big search engines.

Speaking of spiders, i was just watching some television, and saw a commercial for AMC's movie of the month. It was "Arachniphobia". I think i've seen that movie a long time ago, and i think it may have given me arachniphobia. Either way, spiders give me the willies2.

like i said i would, i've gotten rid of the frames on the website. I think i've gotten everything, but if you see a mistake or anything of the sort, let me know.

I also have some plans for the message boards. Nothing too big though... stay tuned...

and some more exciting news!... This website has just eclipsed over half a million visitors!!! okay, well maybe not 1/2 million, but it did just reach the 400 mark. Only about 499,600 more hits to go.

  3-16-06:

I was really really tired this morning. Wouldn't it be nice if you could schedule your life around your sleep schedule, rather than scheduling sleep around life? I think i would like that.

and i've decided to get ride of the frames on this website. Incase you don't know what frames are, frames are like miniature internet browser windows inside your real browser; It's hard to explain. This website currently has two main frames. The one at the top^^^ has all the links to the different pages. Those links will change the page diplayed in the bottom frame, which takes up the majority of the space on your screen.

well, i've decided to get rid of them. I'll probably do it some time this weekend. The top frame will be replaced with a header type thing. It'll be very similar to how it is now, except that it won't stay at the top when you scroll down. i can do this relatively easily with php, so it's no big problem. I've also been thinking about adding some new features. more info on them later.

Here is a link to info about a programming competition that my high school will be going to on April 25th.

I plan to crush my opponents with my giant proverbial cup of hot, steaming, double-caffeinated, java. Well, i hope so anyways. I don't mean to sound bigheaded or over confident, but I would consider myself the best when i comes to programming where i come from. Though the 2nd place guy isn't too far behind. The rest of the pack has been lapped by me and my java skills. Though i don't realistically plan to win first in the competition. But i do certainly plan to do better than my school did last year(43rd & 58th :-( ). Last year they didn't have me. :-P

What were you doing at 1:59:26.535 today? Notice the familiar combination of numbers? maybe not? Well today is Pi day! March 14th, one o'clock, 59 minutes, 26 seconds, and 535 thousandths of a second is when the clock would've matched the first 11 digits of Pi. I also memorized the first ten decimal places of Pi: 3.1415926535... i didn't just do that today, i had that in my head for a while. Happy Pi Day everybody! :-D

I was also fooling around with some numbers today. And i discovered a nifty little pattern.
Let's say you take a number (let's say 6 for example) and take the sum of all real integers below and including that number (0+1+2+3+4+5+6= 21). You will find that your second number (21) will always divide perfectly by half of your first number (6/2=3; 21/3=7 R0). Not only that, but your quotient (7) will always be the next integer after your first number (6). Here's a little chart i made to show ya'll:
    count sum / 1/2count quotient
    1 1 / 0.5 = 2
    2 3 / 1.0 = 3
    3 6 / 1.5 = 4
    4 10 / 2.0 = 5
    5 15 / 2.5 = 6
    6 21 / 3.0 = 7
    7

So if you forget what number comes next, just remember to take the sum of all integers below and including that number, then divide by half of your original number. ;-)

UPDATE
I just changed the message board a little bit. Now you can create posts that are more than one line. A php function that i just found today allowed me to do this. ;-)

I also found this website about pi. You can view the first 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, or if you're really brave the first 1 million digits of pi.

My computer is a turd2. So is AOL. I bet the Mark II had fewer bugs. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but the Mark II did have the first "bug" in 1947 i think. It was at Harvard University and a bug (a moth to be exact) got caught in a relay switch and caused the machine to malfunction. That was the first time the term 'bug' was used and recorded in history. I'm not too sure though, it's all a bit fuzzy in my mind. But you get the idea.

And that's today's random Computer Science History lesson. I hope you took notes. There will be a test next Monday.

Hey! Why didn't anyone tell me that the F1 season started this week? With Alonso, Schumacher, and Räikkönen all in the top 3, i sure would've liked to watch. Well, the Kuala Lumpur GP is less than a week away. I'll make sure not to miss that.

  3-10-06:

It's about 1:30 am, so technically it's March 11th. Only 3 more days till Pi day! Anyways, my computer just reminded me of how much of a turd it is. I'd bet ENIAC (Electronic Numeric Integrator and Computer) was faster. Well maybe not, but i just wanted to point out how terrible my computer is; and why not show off my programming history knowledge a little big while i'm at, eh? Here's some more ENIAC info if interested.

Well, i don't have anymore projects to do for now. :-) But i still have to read a lot. (fiction = bleh) Now i can [try to] have a nice, relaxing weekend.

Now, i'm off to bed. I'm really tired. I'll probably sleep till around 3:00pm. :)

I scored a 48/48 (a.k.a. 100% ) on that liturature test. :-D

I learned today that i have a 92% in AP Comp. Sci. class. I'm not too sure how though. I don't recall ever scoring in the sub-92% range on any tests this semester. On the last test we took, i got a 100%. Maybe it was from these packets that we get that are rediculously hard. 75% of the questions aren't even in the chapter we're working on, and i'm not a big fan of scouring the entire book looking for answers. I'm not too sure from where we're expected to come up with answers. They're only worth like 15pts though. I get like 10 or so. Maybe i'll have to cash in my own programs (which are like 20 times better than anything we're assigned) for bonus points.

I think i did well on that classic literature test. When the teacher was grading them in class, she said "good job" to me. So i assume that means that i did well. Unless she was being sarcastic, which would've been awfully rude to publicly announce my failure. But she didn't sound sarcastic. And i didn't find the test to be too difficult. So i'm almost positive i did well. So now my grade isn't as bad. We ought to have another test by the end of the grading period. Plus i've got a project due this friday. So if i do well with those, my grade might be high enough to satisfy me.

Well, the java programs for chapter 13 are pretty much all done. Two of them i have posted in the java section. The rest are saved on the school computer, so i can post them at the moment. The java programs were rather easy. I was hoping for something a little more challenging/interesting. Well, i guess that's kind of a good thing, because i have some other projects that i have to do.

The other day i created a program that would take tables that you had created in a text editor (with just white space line up the columns) and would covert them into an HTML table. Though it can only handle tables where the number of columns is the same in every row. Here's an example of what it can do. It can take a table like this and turn it into this. Though there was a little editing that i did.

Speaking of that other website, that is the website i created for my Gran Turismo 4 racing team/league. In about a month, it has gotten 370+ visits. That's more than this site has gotten throughout all of it's existance.

One more thing i'd like to mention. In my last post, i talked about those insanely smart people. Well, that got me thinking. Is there a limit to how much information the brain can hold. I imagine there has to be some kind of limit; your brain is only so big physically. And if there is a limit, what is it in terms of bytes? it must be a lot. And is there any special format that the brain uses to store info? Like a picture for example. Does it store the image as a .BMP, or .TIFF, or maybe a .PNG? nah, it's definately stores it as a JPEG. (ok, just kidding about that) But seriously, if you took data stored in one brain, and somehow transferred it to a new brain, would the new brain be able to understand the info? or would it be like a Mac trying to run a Windows program? that's some deep stuff right there.

Long time, no update. That's mainly because I was super busy with schoolwork all last week. I've got another crazy project due at the end of this week, so i may not have the opportunity to update for a little while.

Last week i had to create Achilles' shield as described by Homer in book 18 of the Iliad for Classic Lit class. I had to put a good effort into it because i'm not doing too well in that class. Mainly because i bombed the first test like Hiroshima, except worse. And we only took two tests so far, i did decent on the second test(B). I think the shield turned out pretty well, so hopefully that'll bring up my grade some more. We have another test tomorrow, on books 1-8 of The Odyssee. I think all the nuclear warhead have been eliminated, so i don't think i'll bomb this one(i hope i don't).

I can ace AP Computer Science but i seem to struggle when it comes to literature. I suppose some people minds are more geared towards Math and Science, and other's towards literature and something else.

Speaking of people's minds, i was watching this show on the discovery channel yesterday about savants(rediculously smart people). This one guy, he memorized like the first 20,000 decimal places of Pi (3.141592...) and then recited them all in order perfectly. He also learned to speak/understand Icelandic in one week. This other guy was practically a human version of Google. They said he could read 2 pages of a book at the same time. These people are amazing.
